Haha, well love and sexuality are great and varied things, and often more complex than the idea that we are only destined for one person. Some people will happily be with one person their whole life, some will happily find many, and some will happily find several at once. There’s validity in all of them.
Queer identities are more complicated than just being limited to one relationship with one gender always, they’re much more vastly varied, and polyamory is something many people find true happiness in. So I wouldn’t say it’s just arwen and merthur separately coexisting so much as it is my feeling that the three of them together are a perfect fit. They play off eachother’s personalities and strengths in great and different ways, they get different things from eachother, they all support the relationships between them, and to me that is a strong and well-founded bond, though they of course have their setbacks and issues. I say arwen and merthur separate specifically on my blog moreso because I reblog and defend them both separately (no one really makes OT3 gifsets so much lol), but I personally don’t feel they need to be separate, or that they can’t both happen simultaneously. Arthur can have strong feelings for two people at once, and for that matter so can Gwen and Merlin. So can anyone.
I don’t personally understand this mythical limit on the human heart, that there’s only room for one there always, and that loving someone else means the love you feel for another should or has waned (not saying everyone should be this way, because it’s different for everyone, but invalidating other identities for it is the frustrating thing). Love for one can even bolster the love for another depending on the relationship. To me that is those three. They’re all supportive of each other’s relationship with the other, so I am too<3 OT3 FOREVER 8I
